Uterus is internal organ of female situated in pelvic cavity.it has three layer
1-Endometrium( inner layer)
2-Myometrium( middle layer)
3-Perimetrium(outer layer of uterus)
Endometrium is inner layer of uterus and it plays a vital role in pregnancy.
After fertilization the fertilized egg implant in endometrium of uterus.
Normal thick of endometrium is necessary for successful implementation of fertilized egg.
The endometrium thickness is 8mm to 11mm normal . below or less than 7 mm is called thin endometrium which decreases the chanse of conceive pregnancy.
Symptoms of thin endometrium.
1-Iregular menstrual cycle.
2-Menstrual bleeding will reduce.
3-Women experience pain in menstrual period.
4-Infertility(women not conceive due to thin endometrium)
CAUSES OF THIN ENDOMETRIUM
1-Low estrogen level (estrogen is female Hermon which is necessary for normal thickness of endometrium)
2- Long time use of fertility drugs.
3- If women using birth control pills for long time.
4_Any infection like endometrial tuberculosis.
5- Dilation and curettage and other surgery which harm the endometrium.(Dilation and curettage is a procedure in which the cervix is dilated and remove the part of the lining of uterus.
TREATMENT OF THIN ENDOMETRIUM
1-USG- ( ultrasonography)to check the thickness of endometrium of uterus.
2-Hysteroscopy( it is a procedure to look inside the uterine cavity and to evaluate the condition of endometrium)
3-Estrogen therapy(estrogen necessary for normal thickness of endometrium.many women having low estrogen level so need to take estrogen tablet orally but according to doctors order)
4- Treatment of infection( infection like endometrial tuberculosis or any other pelvic infection should treated with medicine.
5-GCST(Granulocyte colony stimulating factor) it helps the increase endometrial thickness.
