Upper end is called iliac crest

Lower end fused with pubis and ischium, 2/5th part of acetabulum

ILIAC CREST

Iliac crest extend from anterior superior iliac spine to posterior superior iliac spine.

Iliac crest divide into two segment

1-ventral segment 2/3 of iliac crest(anterior two-third)

2-dorsal segment 1/3 of iliac crest(posterior one third)

Inner lip of iliac crest- the inner margin of iliac crest is called inner lip of iliac crest.

Outer lip of iliac crest- the outer lip external lip of iliac crest.

Between the inner lip and outer lip of iliac crest the line is called intermediate xone.

The outer lip of iliac crest has a tubercle called as tubercle of iliac crest.
